I’m being followed by a moonshadow

Shoot for the moonlit nights. One of the great dividends of being on the mountain round the clock is being able to enjoy the high-altitude scenery even after the lifts have stopped. But you can’t see too much except the headlights of the piste bashers on pitch black nights. The best way to enjoy this nocturnal vista would be to schedule your stay around the time of a full moon which lights up the surrounding peaks (especially with the reflective white snow)…and hope for clear skies.
Above is one of our photos from our stay at Klumhotel Gommergrat which looked out over the iconic Matterhorn peak. With our stay taking place during full moon, we enjoyed dazzling views of the striking edifice round the clock.
