VIEW – The rooms have some of the most expansive views with wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows AND the bed situated very close to the window. Also, the rooms are duplex so there is very good privacy for a 4 person suite (two couples or a family).

FOOD – We only stopped for hot chocolate, but it was hot and chocolaty (more so than most of the disappointing hotchoc offerings around Hochzillertal).

GETTING THERE – Snow mobile transfer is available if you arrive before 9 or after 4 (because snow mobiles are not allowed on the piste). The vast majority of people ski there (leaving their luggage at the Mountain View point, see Wedelhutte “Getting There”). Ski the Blue 14 to one of the lifts taking you up the mountain (see piste map) and choose your combination of routes to work your way over to either the Panoramalift (which will take you right there) or the Kristallexpress (which will take you a 50m walk to the lodge).

SKIING OUT – Red 11 or Red 10 descend directly below Kristalhutte, but if you walk over to the top of the Kristallexpress, you can take a more leisurely Blue 9 down the slopes.

SPECIALS – A lovely spa with sauna, steam bath and waterbed (one of our most memorable spa experiences was having a super relaxing nap on one of these after a massage treatment at the Pennyhill Park spa).
